How to convert a PDF to images

  1. Add the PDF

    Choose a file or drop it on the box. The page count appears once it opens.

  2. Set format and resolution

    Pick PNG or JPEG, a DPI, and optionally the pages you want. JPEG has a quality slider.

  3. Convert and download

    Press Convert. Pages appear as they render; download any one, or Download all as zip.

Good to know

  • Rendering runs page by page and you can press Stop at any time; the pages already done stay available.
  • Pages are rendered with pdf.js, the same engine Firefox uses, so fonts and vector graphics come out exactly as in the viewer.
  • Very high DPI on large pages makes big images; a 300 dpi A3 page is about 30 megapixels.
  • For a single page, the Download button saves the image directly without a zip.

Questions people ask

Which DPI should I choose?

96 or 150 for screens, slides and websites. 200 to 300 for print or when the page has small text. A4 at 300 dpi is about 2480 by 3508 pixels.

PNG or JPEG?

PNG is lossless and best for text, diagrams and anything with transparency. JPEG is much smaller for photo-heavy pages; 80 to 90 quality looks the same on screen.

Can I convert just one page?

Yes. Type the page number in the Pages box, or a range such as 2-5, and press Convert.

How are the images named?

The PDF name plus the page number, for example brochure-1.png, so they sort in order.

Are my PDF files uploaded?

No. Every step runs inside your browser with the pdf-lib and pdf.js libraries. Files never leave your device, there is no size or count limit beyond your computer's memory, and nothing is stored when you close the tab.
