How to watermark a PDF

  1. Add the PDFs

    Choose one or more files or drop them on the box.

  2. Design the stamp

    Type the text and pick a colour and size, choose an image, or use both. Set the layout, opacity, angle and, if needed, the pages, and watch the preview update.

  3. Stamp and download

    Press Add watermark. Download each file, or Download all as zip.

Good to know

  • Tiled with a small size and 15 to 20 percent opacity gives the classic DRAFT pattern that still leaves the page readable.
  • An angle of 45 runs bottom-left to top-right; 0 keeps the text level; negative angles slope the other way.
  • The stamp is placed the right way up on pages that are stored rotated.
  • For a signature-style logo on the last page only, set Pages to that page number and the layout to Bottom right.

Questions people ask

How do I put CONFIDENTIAL across every page?

Add the file, keep Text selected, type the word, leave the layout on Centre with a 45 degree angle and press Add watermark. The preview shows the first page as you adjust; lower the opacity if it should sit lightly behind the content.

Can I use my logo?

Yes. Switch to Image and choose a PNG or JPEG. PNG transparency is kept. Width sets the logo size as a share of the page width; Bottom right places it like a signature. Text + image puts the logo above a line of text as one stamp.

Can the watermark be removed later?

It is drawn into the page content, so a casual reader cannot drag it off, but a PDF editor can still strip it. Treat it as a label, not as protection.

Why does my text come out as an error?

The built-in font covers Latin letters, digits and common symbols. For Tamil or other scripts, make a transparent PNG of the text and use it as an image watermark.

Are my PDF files uploaded?

No. Every step runs inside your browser with the pdf-lib and pdf.js libraries. Files never leave your device, there is no size or count limit beyond your computer's memory, and nothing is stored when you close the tab.
