How to edit a PDF

  1. Open the PDF

Choose the file or drop it on the box. Use the thumbnails or Page Up and Page Down to move between pages.

  2. Add and arrange

Pick a tool and drag on the page, or press Add text or Add image. Select anything to move it, resize it from a corner or change its style.

  3. Save

Press Save PDF and download the edited copy. The original is left as it was.

Good to know

  • Shapes keep the tool's colour, width and opacity; changing them with an item selected restyles that item too.
  • Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y undo and redo, Delete removes the selection and Escape goes back to Select.
  • Text and shapes are written as real PDF vector content, so they stay sharp when zoomed.
  • WebP and GIF images are converted to PNG before they go in, since PDF holds only JPEG and PNG-style images.

Questions people ask

Can I change the existing text in a PDF?

No. A PDF stores text as positioned glyphs, not as editable paragraphs, and rewriting them reliably needs the original fonts. The honest workaround is to cover the old words with a white-out box and type the new text on top.

Does white-out delete what is underneath?

No. It paints a white box over it; the original text is still in the file and can be copied or found by search. To remove content for good, use Redact PDF, which replaces the page with an image.

Can I type in Tamil, Hindi or other scripts?

Yes, but the standard PDF fonts only cover Latin letters, so such text is added as a sharp picture of the text drawn with your device's fonts. It looks right and prints well, but it cannot be selected or searched in the PDF.

How does the highlighter work?

It draws a translucent yellow stroke that multiplies with the page, so the text under it stays dark and readable, like a real highlighter pen.

Are my PDF files uploaded?

No. Every step runs inside your browser with the pdf-lib and pdf.js libraries. Files never leave your device, there is no size or count limit beyond your computer's memory, and nothing is stored when you close the tab.
