Questions people ask
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The AI model is downloaded to your browser once and runs on your own device, in a background thread. Your photo never leaves your phone or computer, and the page keeps working offline once the model is saved.
Why does it get ready the first time?
The fill is done by an AI model that runs on your device. Standard is about 35 MB with its engine, downloaded once and kept by your browser. While it downloads, small marks are filled at once by a quick fill, and you can tap Improve with AI when it is ready.
Does it lower the quality of my photo?
No. Only the area you brush over is changed. Everything else keeps every original pixel, and the download is the same size as your photo, even for a 24 megapixel camera picture.
What can it remove?
People in the background, bags, bins and signs, wires and poles, date stamps, spots and dust, and small text. It works best when the area behind the object is sky, sea, grass, sand, a wall or a road. A big object in front of a busy pattern may need two or three passes.
Which quality should I pick?
Standard is quick and works well for most photos. High quality is a bigger model (about 210 MB) that does better with large areas and repeating patterns like brick, tiles and fences, but it is slower, especially on phones.
The fill does not look right. What can I do?
Undo, then brush a little wider than the object, including its shadow. Or brush over the odd part again: each pass fills from what is around it now. Lasso and Box are quick for big objects.
