Google review link
Paste your Google Maps link. Get a direct review link, directions and more, each with a QR code.
How to make Google Maps links
Paste the Maps link
Open your place in Google Maps on a computer and copy the address bar. That long link carries the name, the pin and the place id. Coordinates or a place name work too, with fewer links available.
Pick the intent
Each card is one thing a person might want to do: open the place, get directions, start navigation, write or read reviews, or open it in Apple Maps or Waze. Set the travel mode for the directions links.
Copy or make a QR code
Copy a single link, copy them all, or press QR code to open the QR tool with the link filled in and a matching Google frame chosen.
Good to know
- Short links from the Maps app (maps.app.goo.gl, share.google) cannot be read by a browser page. Open them once and paste the long address from the address bar.
- Write a review needs the place id pair that only the long Maps link carries. A Places place ID (ChIJ…) from your Business Profile also works and gives the documented review link.
- Start navigation opens turn-by-turn guidance immediately on phones with the Google Maps app, so it suits delivery instructions and event invites.
- The embed iframe works without an API key. Set the width and height to suit your page.
- Ctrl+C or Cmd+C with nothing selected copies all the links.
Questions people ask
My link is maps.app.goo.gl or share.google. Why does it need expanding?
Short links only redirect to the real Maps address, and a browser page is not allowed to see where a redirect goes. Open the short link, wait for Maps to load, and copy the long address from the address bar. On a phone, open the place in Maps, tap Share and choose Copy link, then open that link in a browser to get the long form.
Why can this page not find my Place ID or CID by itself?
The CID is read straight from a full Maps link, so paste that and it appears in the summary. The Place ID (ChIJ…) is not in any Maps link and is only available from Google's Places API, which needs a billed API key, so this page cannot look it up. Use Google's Place ID Finder, linked next to the field, and paste the result. Owners also find it in the Business Profile dashboard.
Where does the review link come from?
A full Maps link carries the place's id pair after !1s. Appending Google's review action to that id opens the rating dialog directly. It is a long-standing Maps convention rather than a documented API, so it is marked as such. If you have a Places place ID (ChIJ…) from your Business Profile, paste it in the optional field and the documented review link is produced instead.
Will people need to sign in?
To write a review, yes: Google asks for a Google account. Opening the place, getting directions and reading reviews work without signing in.
Which link goes on a poster or QR code?
Match the intent. For customers already at your shop, use Write a review with the Google review frame. For a flyer or business card, Get directions is what most people want. The plain place link suits websites and chat messages.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Links are read and built in your browser. The only network request is the optional attempt to expand a short link, which goes through a public proxy and can be skipped.
