How to make a signature image

  1. Draw, type or upload

    Sign in the box with a mouse, finger or stylus; Undo removes the last stroke. Or type your name and pick a handwriting font. Or drop, paste or photograph your paper signature and clean up the background.

  2. Pick a pen and a look

    Ballpoint is even, Fountain and Brush thicken and thin with your hand, Marker is bold. Crisp gives clean digital ink; Natural softens and roughens it like a scanned pen signature.

  3. Download

    PNG for documents, SVG for design tools, JPEG if a form insists. Copy image puts the PNG on your clipboard for pasting straight into a document.

Good to know

  • On a phone, turn it sideways for a wider pad and sign with your finger; a stylus gives real pressure, so Fountain and Brush follow how hard you press.
  • Sign fast and loose, the way you do on paper. Fountain and Brush thin out on quick strokes and pool where you slow down, which is what makes a signature look like yours.
  • Natural look at 40 to 60 reads like a good scan; 80 and above like a photocopy. Blue or navy ink with Natural passes as a wet signature on printed forms.
  • The pen sliders restyle the whole signature, so sign first and tune afterwards. Download at 2× or 4×; the strokes are stored as curves, so the PNG stays sharp and the SVG has no pixels at all.
  • For a photo, fill the frame with the signature and shoot straight down. Press Auto for a starting threshold, leave Even out lighting on to kill shadows, and raise Despeckle if dust remains.

Questions people ask

How do I get a signature with a transparent background?

Draw or type it, keep Transparent ticked and download PNG. The file has no background, so it sits cleanly on a PDF, a Word document or an email. JPEG cannot hold transparency, so pick PNG or SVG.

How do I make it look like a real pen signature, not a digital one?

Pick the Fountain or Brush pen so the line thickens and thins with your speed, then switch Look to Natural. That softens the edge, roughens it slightly and varies the ink density, the way a scan of paper does. Lower the amount for a light scan, raise it for a rough photocopy.

Can I use a photo of my signature on paper?

Yes. Open the Photo tab, drop or paste the picture, and press Auto. Even lighting removes shadows and the yellow of the paper, Despeckle drops dust, and Straighten fixes a tilted shot. Recolour the ink black or blue if the pen was faint, then download a trimmed PNG.

Is a drawn signature legally valid?

In India the IT Act recognises electronic signatures, and most everyday documents accept a drawn or typed signature image. For contracts that need a certified digital signature (DSC) or Aadhaar eSign, use a licensed provider; this tool only makes the image.

Which file should I use where?

PNG for PDFs, Word, Google Docs and email. SVG for design tools and websites, since it scales without blur. JPEG only if a form refuses PNG.

Is my signature uploaded or stored?

No. Everything is drawn and exported in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server and nothing is kept after you close the tab.
