How to make a resume

  1. Fill in your details

Start from a sample or a blank page. Add your contact details, then fill each section: summary, experience, education, skills and more.

  2. Arrange and style

Drag sections by the handle (or use the arrows) to change the order, hide what you do not need, and pick a template, font, colour and spacing.

  3. Download

Download a PDF with selectable text, a Word file, plain text for job site forms, or a picture. Your resume is saved in this browser for next time.

Good to know

  • Freshers: put Education first, then any internship, projects and skills. Show marks or CGPA and the year you finish.
  • Start each bullet with what you did and add a number when you can: “Entered 600+ bills in Tally” says more than “Handled billing”.
  • Match the words in the job advert. Systems that sort resumes look for the same skills and job titles.
  • Keep the headings plain (Experience, Education, Skills). Fancy names confuse the systems that read resumes.
  • Use one email address that looks professional, and a phone number with the +91 code.
  • Plain text is handy for job site forms that ask you to paste your resume.
  • Everything is made in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Questions people ask

Will applicant tracking systems read this resume?

Yes. The PDF holds real text in reading order, not a picture, with plain headings such as Experience and Education. The single-column templates are the safest; the two-column one keeps contact and skills in a side column, which most systems still read but a few older ones mix up.

How long should my resume be?

One page for freshers and up to about five years of work, two pages after that. The line under the preview tells you how many pages you have and how full the last one is, so you can trim or switch to Compact spacing.

Should I add a photo?

Most private companies in India do not need one, and leaving it out saves space. Add one only when the job advert asks for it. It sits at the top right and is never stretched.

What should a fresher put on a resume?

A two-line summary of the job you want, education with marks or CGPA, any internship or part-time work, college projects, skills you can prove (software, languages, typing speed), certificates and achievements. Load the B.Com fresher sample to see one filled in.

Can I edit it later or in Word?

Your resume is kept in this browser and opens again next time. Save as a file keeps it as a small .json you can open on any device, and Word (.docx) gives you an editable copy.

Is my resume uploaded?

No. Everything is made in your browser. Your details stay on this device until you press Clear saved data.
