How to rotate a PDF

  1. Add the PDFs

    Choose one or more files or drop them on the box. Each row shows its page count when read.

  2. Choose the angle and pages

    Pick 90° clockwise, 180° or 90° anticlockwise, and optionally which pages to turn.

  3. Rotate and download

    Press Rotate. Download each file, or Download all as zip when there are several.

Good to know

  • Scanned in landscape but reads sideways? 90° clockwise is usually the fix for a phone scan.
  • To rotate different pages by different amounts, use Organize PDF, which has a rotate button per page.
  • The Pages box applies to every file in the list, so keep it empty when the files differ.
  • Rotation adds to any rotation already stored in the page, so pressing 90 twice gives 180.

Questions people ask

How do I rotate a PDF permanently?

Rotating in a viewer only changes the view. Here the rotation is written into the file, so it opens the right way up everywhere. Add the PDF, choose the angle and press Rotate.

Can I rotate only some pages?

Yes. Type the pages in the Pages box, for example 2, 5-7 or 3-. Leave it empty to rotate every page.

Which way is 90° clockwise?

The top of the page moves to the right, as if you turned a sheet of paper a quarter turn to the right. 90° anticlockwise moves the top to the left.

Does it re-render or reduce quality?

No. Only the page's rotation flag changes; text stays selectable and images keep their resolution. The file size is almost unchanged.

Are my PDF files uploaded?

No. Every step runs inside your browser with the pdf-lib and pdf.js libraries. Files never leave your device, there is no size or count limit beyond your computer's memory, and nothing is stored when you close the tab.
