How to convert a PDF to Excel
Add the PDF
Choose a file or drop it on the box. A preview shows the rows and columns found on the first page you selected.
Choose pages and layout
Type a range such as 2-4 to convert only some pages. Pick Sheet per page, or All in one sheet to stack every page.
Convert and download
Press Convert to Excel. Progress shows page by page, Stop keeps the pages already done, and Download saves the .xlsx.
Good to know
- Type the first page of the table in Pages and the preview switches to it.
- All in one sheet drops the header row when a later page repeats it, so a long statement becomes one clean table.
- Numbers in the preview are right-aligned in the accent colour; anything left-aligned will be text in Excel.
- Bank statements and invoices from accounting software convert best. Hand-made layouts with text boxes need more checking.
Questions people ask
How do I convert a PDF table to Excel?
Add the PDF and check the preview of the first page. Choose a sheet per page or all in one sheet, then press Convert to Excel and download the .xlsx file.
Are numbers kept as numbers?
Yes. Values such as 1,234.50, 1,23,456.78, Rs. 500, $1,200, (300.00) and 12.5% become real numbers you can sum. Codes with leading zeros, dates and long IDs stay as text so nothing is changed by accident.
Why are some columns merged or split?
Columns are found from the gaps between pieces of text. Cells that wrap onto two lines, headings that span columns or tables without clear gaps can land in the wrong column. The preview shows what you will get before you convert.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Yes. Scanned pages are found when the file opens, and OCR reads them on your device; the words then go through the same row and column detection. The reading engine and language data download once and stay on this device. Check numbers against the scan: OCR can misread a digit.
Are my PDF files uploaded?
No. Every step runs inside your browser with the pdf-lib and pdf.js libraries. Files never leave your device, there is no size or count limit beyond your computer's memory, and nothing is stored when you close the tab.
