How to split a PDF

  1. Add the PDF

    Choose a file or drop it on the box. The page count appears once it is read.

  2. Choose how to split

    Page ranges takes the pages you type, Every N pages makes equal chunks, Single pages makes one file per page.

  3. Split and download

    Press Split. Download each file, or Download all as zip when there are several.

Good to know

  • Ranges accept commas and spaces: 1-3, 5, 8-10. An open range like 12- runs to the last page.
  • Without Into one PDF, each range becomes its own file, which is handy for splitting chapters.
  • Page order in the output follows the order you type, so 5, 1-2 puts page 5 first.
  • Splitting keeps the original quality; pages are copied, not re-rendered.

Questions people ask

How do I extract certain pages from a PDF?

Choose Page ranges, type the pages you want such as 2-4, 7, tick Into one PDF and press Split. You get one file with just those pages.

How do I split a PDF into separate pages?

Choose Single pages and press Split. Each page becomes its own file, and Download all gives you a zip.

What does Every N pages do?

It cuts the document into equal chunks: with 10 pages per file, a 35 page PDF becomes four files of 10, 10, 10 and 5 pages.

How are the files named?

The original name plus the page numbers, for example report-1-3.pdf, report-page-7.pdf or report-selected.pdf.

Are my PDF files uploaded?

No. Every step runs inside your browser with the pdf-lib and pdf.js libraries. Files never leave your device, there is no size or count limit beyond your computer's memory, and nothing is stored when you close the tab.
