  1. தரை அமை · Set your floor

    Pick a floor colour and a dot grid: straight dots like 7 - 7, interlaced dots like 7 - 4, or no dots at all. You can also start over a ready design.

  2. வரை · Draw with symmetry

    Choose how many times each line repeats around the centre, with or without a mirror. Pick a brush and a colour, then draw. Every stroke blooms into a full pattern.

  3. பகிர் · Keep and share

    Watch your kolam replay line by line, keep it in My kolams, save it as a picture or share it with family and friends.

Questions people ask

Do I need to know how to draw a kolam?

No. Turn on 4 or 8 repeats with mirror and draw any small curve near the centre. The studio repeats it all around, so even a first try looks like a finished kolam.

What is the difference between straight and interlaced dots?

Straight dots (ner pulli) sit in rows one under the other, like 5 - 5 or 7 - 7. Interlaced dots (idukku pulli) sit between the dots of the next row, like 7 - 4: seven in the middle row, four in the end rows.

Will I lose my drawing if I close the page?

No. Your drawing is kept in this browser as you draw and is back when you return. Use Keep to put it in My kolams with a name, where you can open it again any time.

Can I draw over one of the designs?

Yes. Open any design and choose Create, or tap Today's kolam here. The design sits under your lines, and you can change its floor, colours and look.

Is my drawing uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything stays on your device. A picture is only shared when you choose Share.
