How it is calculated
Each date is turned into a plain day number on the calendar, so the gap is a simple subtraction and clock changes never add or lose a day.
days = end day number − start day number (+ 1 when the end date is included)
Months are counted by stepping forward one month at a time from the start date. When a month has no matching day, the last day of that month is used, so 31 January plus one month is 28 February (29 in a leap year). Working days go through the range day by day, leaving out Sundays, the Saturdays your rule says, and your holidays.
How to count days between dates
Pick the two dates
Type them as dd/mm/yyyy or use the calendar. The start date begins at today.
Choose what counts
Tick Include the end date if both days count. Set the Saturday rule and paste holidays for working days.

Good to know
- Banks and many offices close on the second and fourth Saturdays. Pick that rule to match.
- Notice periods and leave are often counted with both dates. Tick Include the end date for those.
- Typing 01082026 with no slashes works too; it is read as 01/08/2026.
- Copy link keeps the dates and options in the address. The holiday list stays on this page only.
- Ctrl+C with nothing selected copies the whole result.
Questions people ask
Does the count include the start and end dates?
By default it counts the days from the start date up to the end date, the way a calendar does: 1 to 2 August is 1 day. Tick Include the end date to count both days, which gives 2. Leave notices and rental days often count both.
How are working days counted?
Every day in the range is checked. Sundays are left out, Saturdays follow the rule you pick (all off, second and fourth off, only the second off, or all working), and any holiday you paste is left out too.
What happens when I add a month to 31 January?
You get the last day of February (28th, or 29th in a leap year), because February has no 31st. Adding months never spills into the next month.
How do I add a holiday list?
Paste one date per line, such as 26/01/2026 or 2026-01-26. A name after the date is fine, like 15/08/2026 Independence Day. Holidays that fall on a day already off are not counted twice.
Are time zones or daylight saving a problem?
No. Only calendar dates are used, never clock times, so the count is the same wherever you are.
