Questions people ask
How are these muhurtham dates chosen?
By traditional rules: a good star, a good tithi (mostly in the growing moon half), a good weekday and a month that is not set aside, such as Aadi, Purattasi or Margazhi for weddings. Karinal days are left out. Rahu kalam, Yamagandam and Kuligai are taken out of the hours.
Are the times right for my city?
Yes. Pick your city and every sunrise, star and window is worked out for it, in its own local time. It works for cities outside India too.
Should I still ask a priest?
For a wedding, families usually match the horoscopes of both people and fix the final time with their priest or elder. Use this list to choose a few good dates to ask about.
What is the lagnam shown next to the time?
The rising sign at that hour. Some families prefer certain lagnams for a wedding. It is shown so you can talk about it with your priest.
Is anything sent anywhere?
No. All the dates are worked out on your phone. Nothing you choose leaves it.
