Happy Maha Shivratri to my dear family. May Lord Shiva keep every one of us healthy, calm and close.
Tonight we keep the lamp burning and the prayers going. May Mahadev bless our home. Om Namah Shivaya.
To Maa and Papa, who taught me my first Shiva prayer: thank you. A blessed Maha Shivratri to you.
May the bel leaves we offer tonight bring peace to our home and strength to our hearts.
Wherever we are tonight, we chant the same name. Har Har Mahadev. Happy Maha Shivratri, family.
Wishing our family a night of devotion, a day of peace and a year of Shiva's grace.
Warm Maha Shivratri wishes from [Your name] and family. May Bholenath fill your home with calm.
May the fast we keep today make us stronger, and the prayers we say make us kinder.
Milk, water, bel leaves and a quiet heart. May our simple offering reach Mahadev. Happy Maha Shivratri.
May Shiva and Parvati bless every bond in our family with love and trust.
The temple bells, the smell of camphor and our whole family in the queue at dawn. Happy Maha Shivratri.
May our home stay as steady as Kailash and as pure as the Ganga. Om Namah Shivaya.

About Maha Shivratri
Maha Shivratri, the great night of Shiva, is one of the holiest nights for Hindus. It falls on the fourteenth night of the waning moon in the month of Magha, or Phalguna as it is called in the north, usually in February or March.
Many remember it as the night of the marriage of Shiva and Parvati, and as the night Shiva performed his cosmic dance. It is a night of prayer and self-control more than feasting.
Devotees fast, offer water, milk and bel leaves on the Shiva lingam, chant Om Namah Shivaya and stay awake through the night in temples and at home. Famous gatherings take place at Varanasi, Ujjain, Somnath, Srisailam, Kalahasti, Gokarna and Pashupatinath in Nepal.
It is a public holiday in Nepal and Mauritius, where pilgrims walk to the lake of Ganga Talao, and it is kept by Hindu families around the world.
