Today the festival is a big celebration of Mizo culture. Young people in traditional dress, the woven puan, perform group dances, and the famous Cheraw, the bamboo dance, is the highlight.

Aizawl and towns across Mizoram hold dances, music, crafts and food stalls, and Mizo communities in other parts of India join in.
