Questions and answers
Capturing, editing, saving, privacy and Pro.
Getting started
How do I capture a full page?
Click the extension's icon in the toolbar, or press Alt+Shift+F. It scrolls the page, stitches the parts together and opens the capture in a new tab.
Where is the icon?
New extensions are hidden under the puzzle-piece button in the toolbar. Open it and click the pin next to Full Page Screenshot so the icon stays in view.
How do I capture only part of a page?
Right-click the icon and pick Capture visible area or Capture selected area, or press Alt+Shift+V or Alt+Shift+S. For a selection, drag over the part you want.
Can I change the keyboard shortcuts?
Yes. In Chrome and Edge open the extensions page, choose Keyboard shortcuts and set your own. In Firefox open the add-ons page, click the gear and choose Manage Extension Shortcuts.
Captures
Why does the page scroll by itself while capturing?
The browser can only take a picture of what is on screen, so the extension scrolls one screen at a time and joins the pictures. Leave the tab alone until it finishes.
The header shows up more than once. What can I do?
Fixed and sticky parts are kept only at the top by default. If a site still repeats something, open Options and change how floating parts are handled, then capture again.
Some pictures on the page are blank.
Some sites load pictures only as you scroll. Scroll to the bottom once, go back to the top, then capture.
Only the first screen of a web app was captured.
Some apps scroll inside a panel instead of the page. The extension looks for that panel and scrolls it; if it picks the wrong one, click inside the part you want to capture first and try again.
Which pages can't be captured?
Browser pages such as settings, the extensions page, the add-on store and new tab pages are protected by the browser. No extension can capture them.
Is there a size limit?
Captures stop at 40,000 pixels tall by default so the browser does not run out of memory. You can change the limit in Options.
Editing and saving
How do I blur private details?
Click Edit, choose Blur and hide, and drag over the part to hide. Pick blur, pixelate or a solid block. The hidden part is flattened into the saved file.
How do I save as a PDF?
Click Save and choose PDF. Long captures are split across pages; pick the page size in Options.
Can I choose where files are saved?
Yes. In Options pick a folder inside your downloads, or turn on Ask where to save. The browser asks for the downloads permission the first time.
Where are my old captures?
Right-click the icon and choose All captures. They are kept in your browser until you delete them.
Privacy
Are my captures uploaded anywhere?
No. Captures and edits are stored in your browser and never leave your computer.
Why does it need these permissions?
It asks to read the current tab only when you click the icon or press a shortcut, to store captures and settings, and to add the right-click menu. Signing in uses the browser's own sign-in window.
Does it track what I do?
No. The extension has no analytics and sends nothing about the pages you visit.
Pro and your account
Is it free?
Yes. Capturing, marking up, blurring and saving are free, with no account. Pro adds extras for people who share captures often.
How do I turn on Pro in the extension?
Open Options, choose Continue with Google and sign in with the account you bought Pro with. Pro switches on by itself.
How many browsers can I use Pro in?
Up to 3 at a time. Remove one from your account page to add another.
What happens when Pro ends?
The extension goes back to the free version. Your captures stay; only the Pro options switch off.
