How to use the random generator

  1. Choose a list

    Pick a list such as Animals, Food, Sports teams or Dice, and set its filters if you like.

  2. Press Generate

    Choose how many you want and press Generate. The cards shuffle for a moment and land on your picks.

  3. Lock, pick again, keep

    Lock the cards you like and press Generate again to change only the rest. Copy the results or download them.

Good to know

  • Turn on No repeats for a quiz or a class game, so nothing comes up twice until the whole list is used.
  • Locked cards stay put when you pick again, handy for building a team, a menu or a story one piece at a time.
  • Spin on the wheel sends the picks, or a short list, to the spin wheel for a big-screen reveal.

Is it really random?

Yes. Every pick uses your device's secure random number source, the kind used for passwords, with a method that gives every item exactly the same chance.

What lists are there?

Names from 20 countries, animals and birds with a fun fact, dishes from 17 cuisines, fruits, vegetables, hobbies, emoji by mood, named colours, every country with its capital, sports teams from the IPL, NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, big football clubs and US colleges, book titles, story ideas, school names, and chance tools: yes or no, coin, dice, letters, numbers and playing cards.

How does No repeats work?

With No repeats on, anything already picked is set aside until the whole list has come up. The count shows how many are left, and Start over puts everything back.

Can I keep one result and change the others?

Yes. Press the lock on a card. Generate then changes only the unlocked cards.

Is anything sent or saved online?

No. The lists are part of the page and every pick happens on your device. Your past picks stay on screen only until you close the page.
