How to find and replace many words

  1. Paste your text

    Paste the text or open a file. Big files are read in the background.

  2. Add your pairs

    Type what to find and what to put in its place. Add as many pairs as you like, or paste a list of pairs from a spreadsheet. Each pair shows how many times it matched.

  3. Check and copy

    Changes marks every replaced word. Copy or Download the result.

Good to know

  • Pairs run from top to bottom, and each one works on the result of the pair above it.
  • Whole word stops cat from changing inside category. Match case keeps Rice and rice apart.
  • With Regular expression on, use $1 for a group you captured and \n for a new line in the replacement.
  • Leave the replace box empty to delete every match.
  • Big files are fine. Drop a text file of 50 MB or more: the work happens in the background, the page stays smooth, and Download saves the full result.

Can I replace several different words at once?

Yes. Add a pair for each word. All pairs run together and each shows its own count, so you can see which ones matched.

How do I paste a list of replacements?

Press Paste pairs and paste two columns from a spreadsheet, or one pair per line written as old, new. Each line becomes a pair.

Does it support regular expressions?

Yes. Tick Regular expression. Groups can be used in the replacement as $1, $2, and a pattern with a mistake is marked without stopping the other pairs.

How do I delete a word everywhere?

Put the word in Find and leave Replace with empty. Every match is removed.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. Every step runs in your browser, on your own device. Nothing you paste or open is sent to a server or kept anywhere except this page.
