- 19 November
- Begun in 1999
- Focus on health and role models
Where it began
Ideas for a day for men were raised in the 1990s. The day on 19 November began in 1999 in Trinidad and Tobago, started by Dr. Jerome Teelucksingh.
He chose the date in honour of his father's birthday. The aim was to celebrate positive male role models and to talk about men's health and wellbeing.
The day spread to many countries over the next years, including India, and each year brings a theme for talks and events.
